Warhammer 40K: Space Marine 2 confirms no plans for PVEVP mode in interview

Warhammer 40K: Space Marine 2 has been well received since it was released on PS5, PC, and Xbox Series X/S on September 9. However, its game director Dmitry Grigorenko recently confirmed in an interview with MP1st that there are currently no plans to add a PVEVP mode to the game.

Grigorenko said this pattern is the “holy grail” of game design, but is extremely difficult to implement. “It can be very annoying when you’re fighting other players only to be attacked from behind by AI enemies. This is why most games try to avoid too much overlap between PvP and PvE aspects, for example, AI enemies are restricted to the map. Specific areas, etc. This is a complex mode that will significantly change the game experience, so we have no plans to do so at this time.”

Although the PVEVP mode will not be added for the time being, the subsequent content plans of “Warhammer 40K: Space Marine 2” are still exciting, including the “Tide of Beasts Mode” to be launched in 2025. Saber Interactive’s creative director previously admitted that the game’s narrative was limited by the three-person cooperative mode, but this did not prevent the game from being a huge success. Saber Interactive has even begun to consider making DLC and sequels.
